How is the cold weather in Canada important?
I am doing an essay of the importance of Canadian weather. I am talking about how it is a part of our Canadian identity. How is the cold weather a big part of being Canadian?

- In popular culture, its common to see Canadians wearing winter clothes. This is obviously a representation of the fact that Canada is mostly a subarctic climate. Canadians have no choice but to deal with harsh winter conditions. Its one of the determining factors of the lifestyles of the people in Canada.
- In Canada, it is cold (not necessarily constantly) from October to April, in most places. Canada has a strong heritage in winter sports; hockey and curling are the big ones. It is part of us... but we do have a lot of hot weather in July and August too, especially in the southern areas. I guess a lot of it is the same reasons why hot weather is important in Mexico.
