  1. If you want purchase a satellite tv, you will need to buy the satellite receiver box either at a retail store or by calling the satellite company and then you will need to choose a date for the satellite installer to come to your house and install a satellite dish on top of your roof. Contact dish network, directv or the satellite provider for more information. Installation requires that a satellite dish be mounted on top of your house facing a certain direction and a line from the satellite dish to the inside of your house that will connect to the satellite receiver box. Satellite television does not require any cable outlets.
  2. The installer will run the necessary cables in most cases Satellite installers prefer to run new cables even if you have cable outlets this has alot to do with the type of cable used by both being slightly different And the main reason for them running new cables is to be certain there are no splitters or splices in the runs to the recievers.
  3. Yes, as stated above, the technician will run the necessary cable so you can get service. The dish doesn't necessarily have to mounted on TOP of the house. It can be mounted on an eave/overhang, pole, or wherever there is a solid mounting surface. For Dish Network, it is best to use RG-6 cable (and not RG-59). Good luck!
