precipitation? What's some facts about precipitation and the rain forest?
How does a tree modify falling precipitation? These questions are to help our geo-Bee finalists, however, anyone can answer them. There are 3 ways a tree modifies falling precipitation...what are they? Its not homework Denali. Its a question for points and to help our resident geo-bee finalists. People answer, get points, the geo-bee finalists can read and learn.
Where Can I Find Statistics on Global Precipitation? I'm looking for information on global precipitation over the past few years. I tried the NOAA's website but wasn't able to find what I wanted there, even though I think they'd have what I'm looking for. What I mostly looking for is data showing what general trends precipitation patterns have been making over the past few years in relation to climate change. Say, whether it's increased, stayed about the same, etc. Any help is much appreciated!
If the rain is not caused by precipitation where does it come from? It has become obvious that rain does not come from precipitation for numerous reasons such as it does not rain over the beach constantly but it has become obviuos to me that water is a pure form of air as when you are at the beach we breathe in salt air so it still evaporates.Trees do not make fresh air as if you put them in a airtight bag especially with polution they will die.I believe that if we can make water then we will be able to solve global warming which maybe =a reverse action of electricity like lightening plus what the air is made of in the outer space does any one have these kind of ideas like me?
Is there a good website that picks up light precipitation? It's currently snowing where I'm at, however, our local doplar radar pictures don't pick it up. It's hard for me to plan the rest of travels when I'm not sure how the weather is affecting the area. Is there a website which doplars pick up light precipitation?
Why does precipitation form in certain chemical reactions and not in others? Why do some chemical reactions form precipitates? It is because of the types of bonds of the chemicals? Or what special chemical qualitites do chemicals which react to form precipitates have? In other words, why do certain reactions such as the reaction between potassium iodide and lead(II) form a precipitate while another reaction would not form a precipitate? Whats the difference in chemical bonds/properties between the reactions that produce precipiates and the reactions that dont? much thanks! sorry if my wording is confusing (explanations and links to helpful sites are much appreciated!!)
Assuming the existence of global warming, there must be corresponding increase in precipitation? Will then net effect of this be an increase in the thickess of the icecaps. And a increase in the area of land which is iregated. If this is not happening, why not? I am not basing your assertions on anything. It was a question. My logic goes as follows, if the seas our hotter then more watar should evapourate. If more water is in the atmosphere then there should be more rain/show on average than before. This is going to have good as well as bad effects. I am not saying this is a good thing, just asking if this is happening or not
Why is there so little precipitation at the Antarctica? Is this because of the rotation of the earth, or due to low temperatures? If average temperature was much higher, would it still be a desert? For those who don't know, Antarctica receives less precipitation than the Sahara desert (including snow - that is also a form of precipitation). + and in the summer it receives more sunlight than any other place on the earth...
